「文父真養子」(第193頁第3行)

大師提出應以出家身，粗劣衣缽乞活知足，於遠離處淨自煩惱，為他供處。並引用了經論和祖師的法語，其中有伽喀巴（若依發音應該是翻譯成伽喀瓦）云：「若能以大仙行，住苦行山間，始為文父真養子。」
這句話在Lhundub Sopa格西的注釋中翻譯成：「If it happens that someone is living in an austere mountain valley, practicing like a sage, then truly that child was well bred by his father.」(第2冊第384頁第34行)而Snow Lion出版的英譯本廣論譯作：「If there is someone living as a sage in the Valley of Ascetics, then the father has fundamentally raised his child well.」(第1冊第338頁第25行)句子中並沒有提到佛陀–原譯文「文父」容易讓人產生文佛的聯想，依Lhundub Sopa格西的解釋，這裏的父是指上師，而「真養子」（well breded child）則是「...one who come to master all the skills and good qualities of character that his father has to teach.」
所以，祖師伽喀瓦的這句話，大意應該是：「如果能夠以隱士的作風，住在簡樸的山間，才算是得師善教之子。」這句話的原文是：
